SKU: AB-N43 Category: Quantity: 50 ug | Antibody Type: Monoclonal | Host: mouse | Reactivity: rat | Conjugate: unconjugated | Usage: flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry |

The low affinity nerve growth factor receptor (p75) is a 75kDa membrane-spanning glycoprotein lacking intrinsic tyrosine kinase activity. p75 is expressed in various parts of the brain, notably in the basal forebrain by cholinergic neurons. Loss of these neurons is one of the hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease.

This antibody recognizes the rat p75 low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor. The immunogen is isolated n-octoglucoside stabilized proteins containing p75 receptor from PC-12 cells. The antibody was produced in ascites fluid and purified by 50% (NH4)2SO4 precipitation followed by protein A column chromatography.

Applications include flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and targeting.

Adult skin-derived precursor Schwann cell grafts form growths in the injured spinal cord of Fischer rats

May Z, Kumar R, Fuehrmann T, Tam R, Vulic K, Forero J, Lucas Osma A, Fenrich K, Assinck P, Lee M, Moulson A, Shoichet M, Tetzlaff W, Biernaskie J, Fouad K (2018) Adult skin-derived precursor Schwann cell grafts form growths in the injured spinal cord of Fischer rats. Biomed Mater 13:034101. doi: 10.1088/1748-605X/aa95f8 PMID: 29068322

Objective: To improve grafted cell survival in the injured spinal cord, which is typically low.

Summary: It is of utmost importance to define the precise culture/transplantation parameters for maintenance of normal cell function and safe and effective use of cell therapy.

Usage: Immunohistochemistry (1:500)
