The V5-tag is derived from a small epitope (Pk) found on the P and V proteins of the paramyxovirus of simian virus 5 (SV5). It is characterized as an epitope tag generally consisting of a short peptide sequence of 14 amino acids (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) and chosen for the high-affinity antibodies that could be generated towards it. The V5-tag is commonly used as a dependable method to detect and purify proteins containing the tag.
Anti-V5-SAP is a chemical conjugate of a mouse monoclonal antibody to the V5 tag fusion protein and the ribosome-inactivating protein, saporin. It specifically eliminates cells with extracellular expression of V5-tagged proteins and cells that recognize YOUR V5-tagged recombinant proteins.
Anti-V5-SAP is available individually (Cat. #IT-58) or as a kit (Cat. #KIT-58) which includes Anti-V5-SAP and Mouse IgG-SAP (Cat. #IT-18).
