Neuronotoxic effects of monoclonal anti-Thy 1 antibody (OX7) coupled to the ribosome inactivating protein, saporin, as studied by suicide transport experiments in the rat.
Wiley RG, Stirpe F, Thorpe P, Oeltmann TN (1989) Neuronotoxic effects of monoclonal anti-Thy 1 antibody (OX7) coupled to the ribosome inactivating protein, saporin, as studied by suicide transport experiments in the rat. Brain Res 505:44-54. doi: 10.1016/0006-8993(89)90114-5 PMID: 2575436
Summary: The authors discuss the use of an antibody-saporin conjugate via retrograde transport (suicide transport). It is important to note that saporin conjugates with non-antibody targeting agents will most likely NOT be retrogradely transported.
Usage: Purified anti-Thy 1.1 conjugated to Saporin (9 mcg) was injected systemically in rats.
