Catenins are a family of proteins that associate with cadherin cell adhesion molecules to regulate cell-cell junctions. p120 catenin, a member of the Armadillo family of junctional plaque proteins, is involved in maintaining cadherin stability at the cell membrane and modulating intracellular signaling pathways. Dysregulation of p120 catenin expression or function has been implicated in cancer development and progression.
