BCAR1, also known as p130Cas, is a widely expressed adaptor protein belonging to the Cas family. It functions as a docking platform with multiple protein-protein interaction domains, allowing it to participate in a variety of signaling pathways. Through these interactions, BCAR1 plays key roles in regulating cell adhesion, migration, apoptosis, responses to hypoxia, and mechanotransduction. Overexpression of BCAR1 has been observed in several cancers, including breast cancer, and is associated with anti-estrogen resistance.
