d-biotin is a natural vitamin that binds to avidin strongly and irreversibly.
This antibody was developed and affinity-purified with d-biotin-agarose beads using d-biotin as antigen. The antibody binds biotin strongly but reversibly. It will react with free biotin and biotinylated antibody and proteins. This antibody was conjugated with FITC (fluorescein isothionate) at an antibody/FITC ratio of approximately 1/20.
Reported to be effective for indirect fluorescent staining studies, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, and immunochemistry.
