Yes, today I was washing my clothes. It was a bit of a challenge to figure out the washing machine, but I managed in the end. Plug it in, turn on the water, choose the right coordinates. Where does the soap go? In the end, I had to look up a manual online! Then an interesting contraption on the terrace to unfold and assemble to hang out the clothes. Boy, that took me back. I remember hanging out the laundry when I was growing up in San Diego. They certainly do have a nice clean smell, but not nearly as soft as the dryer gets them!
The weather continues to be good. I did not make it to the Duomo. I had a reminder of why I am here — to find a place to set up long-term Europe operations for the company. I spent a good deal of time searching for places that would: 1) be affordable, 2) not involve stairs, 3) have heat and AC, 4) have internet access, 5) not too far from a grocery store and other necessities, and 6) enough room to have a freezer to store products and assemble for shipping. It is not such an easy task. For $250,000 I can get a 600 sq-ft place. So small. It would be good to have at least 2 bedrooms so people could come and visit and/or it could be used as a vacation rental when ATS is not using it. Here is an example. It looks quite nice.
I’m manning a virtual neuroscience booth today, so I’ve got to get back to work.
Ciao,
